Why Flourishing Faith Courses?
I’m actually not an expert in anything, but I am a life-long learner. Most of what I have to offer comes from fighting things out in real time (see #2). However, I have one degree in teaching, another degree in pastoral counseling, two certifications in Coaching, ongoing study of lots of things, half a dozen kids, 20 years of pastoring experience, and a passion for collecting practical resources. I’m also in a 2-year program to become a Spiritual Director (which is like a spiritual mentor and prayer guide.) This combination of education and experience gives me a unique perspective on the problems many of us encounter. But that isn’t actually the most important thing about these courses….(read on…)
All of these courses come from my real-life experiences. They include things I have learned through degrees, certifications, reading, workshops, and my own ongoing learning……but most of all, they come from a been-there-done-that perspective.
That “real-life” factor is really important to me. Changing the way you think is essential to making change in your life, and gathering information and tools is a huge part of getting where you want to go. But the real kicker is SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO ACTUALLY DO IT! Sorry, I didn’t mean to yell.
So these courses start by giving you information and tools, but they are designed to help you actually implement the new (or old) information into your daily life.
I’m not going to tell you that you can’t find this stuff somewhere else on the internet-webs. This is not original information that I invented my very own self. But I have done the work of learning and compiling and packaging it for you in a way that allows you to work through the information while integrating it into your everyday life. My work as a teacher helps me to understand the way we learn. My work as a pastor counselor gives me understanding about our woundings and hangups, my coaching education has given me awesome tools for turning ideas into actual habits that work, and my Spiritual direction training deepens my experiences of spiritual formation.
So….I have designed and organized the courses in a way that encourage you to move slowly and integrate the information into habits. New knowledge rattling around in your head is nice, but rich new routines? That’s life-changing.
If you aren’t sure, I get it! Money doesn’t grow on trees and our time is valuable. So give it a try for a week risk-free. If you don’t think it will work for you, you can cancel within 7 days no questions asked.
Happy learning! Happy habit-changing!
